SHENANDOAH VALLEY HYMN SING. Join in singing favorite hymns with other Anabaptists in the Valley on Sunday, October 30 at 7 p.m. at Park View Mennonite Church. Lowell Byler is the music director, and Myron Augsburger is the hymn sing coordinator. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. Gift & Thrift continues to experience "miraculous" growth in donations and sales in all 3 of its divisions – a World of Good, Artisans' Hope, and Booksavers – for which we are grateful. You can help answer our prayers for much needed volunteers in all areas by calling Deb King for more information at 433-8844. ALASKAN ADVENTURE. Would you like to combine service and adventure? There is still room for several participants and we are looking for adult leaders in this year's Service Adventure unit in Anchorage, Alaska. Young adults age 17-20 can serve from February – December 2006 in one of our most unique service locations! This is your chance to give yourself and gain everything. FESITVAL OF PRAISE. The fourth annual “Festival of Praise” will be held on Sunday, November 6 at 4 p.m. in the Park View Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg. Ten men’s singing groups will perform, and join together in a mass choir with Jay Hartzler leading. An offering will be received to benefit Virginia Mennonite Board of Missions ministries. Don’t miss this worship and praise event! EMHS HOST FAMILIES NEEDED. EMHS has the opportunity to have students from outside the local area because families in the community have been willing to open their homes to include these students. Host families are paid $317 each month by the school. Students supply their own personal items and eat lunch at school. EMHS is urgently seeking homes for two students, one already enrolled and one who has applied to come in January. Sara Wenger Shenk, professor at Eastern Mennonite Seminary, will present her final lecture, “Remembering Who We Are From Generation to Generation,” on Saturday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Dayton Church of the Brethren. HISTORIC HOUSE TOUR. The Bounty of Hearth and Heritage tour is scheduled for Saturday, November 19, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. It will feature four homes in the Broadway area built in 1794, 1832, 1853, and 1867, and will also include refreshments at the Linville Creek Church of the Brethren.
