Prayer Concerns
      Pray for our congregation:
    • those members who are experiencing sickness or who are recovering from injury

    • the relationships in our families, which can be strengthened or strained during the holidays

      Pray for our community:
    • that God would enliven local churches to lovingly minister and witness to those around them

      Pray for our world:
    • those affected by the disruption and misery caused by the fighting between Congalese/UN Troops and Ugandan rebels in the Democratic Rupublic of Congo. Currently, there are many people - on the road and camping outside - who are in need of food. The situation is still too dangerous for relief aid to be sent.

Prayer concerns may be sent to: zionprayerroom@aol.com.
Virginia Conference, Mennonite Church USA

SING THE JOURNEY: Sunday, January 15, 2006, from 6:30—8 p.m. in the Eastern Mennonite School Auditorium, will be an evening of singing led by Ken Nafziger, professor of music at Eastern Mennonite University, and composer, Jim Clemens. If you have Sing the Journey, the new Hymnal Supplement, please bring your copy; otherwise, Community Mennonite Church and Eastern Mennonite University will provide copies for use. Child care will be provided for ages 0-7. This event is sponsored by Virginia Mennonite Conference, Eastern Mennonite School, and the Mission Endowment Fund. It is free and open to the public.

ADULT WINTER BIBLE SCHOOL, focusing on Revelation, will be held on Sunday evenings from January 22—March 5, 2006 (except February 5), at 6:30 p.m. in Eastern Mennonite School Auditorium. Duane Yoder will be the Bible teacher. Matthew Hunsberger and others will lead hymns from Sing the Journey each night before the Bible teaching, which will explore the first century context in which Revelation was written, as well as how the risen Christ calls the suffering church to faithfulness and victory in the face of extreme persecution. Adult Winter Bible School is free, and reservations are not required. Child care will be provided for ages 0-7. For more information, contact Steve Carpenter, Virginia Mennonite Conference Coordinator, at 434-9727 or steve.carpenter@vmconf.org.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW! Children and adults alike will enjoy the Hunt Family Fiddlers as they perform lively Irish dances and fiddle music. See this amazing family of 9 members on Sunday, February 5 at 4 p.m. in the Eastern Mennonite School auditorium. There is no admission charge; an offering will benefit the ministries of Virginia Mennonite Board of Missions.
