• Pray for our Anabaptist brothers and sisters suffering oppression in Vietnam. Pray that God will strengthen their faith, encourage them in their suffering, and keep them from reacting with violence.

FUNDS ARE NEEDED for the Mennonite Relief Center. It was a successful canning season: 48,000 pounds of turkey were canned! The Relief Center needs to recover the cost of purchasing turkey, and asks for your help. If you would like to contribute to this project, send a donation to: Mennonite Relief Center, P.O. EASTERN MENNONITE HIGH SCHOOL is seeking professionally certified teachers, who share the call for Anabaptist-Mennonite education in a Christ-centered academic environment. Position openings for the 2006-2007 school year include 6th grade, Science (grades 8-10), and Information Technology (grades 6-9). WEDNESDAY LENTEN SERVICES. An ecumenical community worship service, in the Taizé-style, will be held each Wednesday during Lent, now until April 5, 8:30-9:30 p.m. at Park View Mennonite Church. These services are for the local Christian community to join in prayer for each other, our community, and our world. The worship is patterned after the Taizé community, a Christian community located in a small village in eastern France, which has had a significant impact on Christian worship worldwide.

OPEN HOUSE AT EMHS AND EMMS: Eastern Mennonite High School and Middle School will hold an Open House Sunday, March 19 at 3 p.m. Stop in to visit classrooms, meet teachers, and learn about curriculum. Call 432-4521, for more information.

A QUESTION FOR YOU, MEN: Do you enjoy praising and serving the Lord in song? Well, the Rockingham Male Chorus currently has openings for all parts. The chorus meets from early September to mid-May and gives from 20-30 programs each year, singing locally and as far away as Florida. Chorus members come from all areas of the valley and meet Tuesday evenings at the Bridgewater Retirement Community chapel for practice. EMHS VOLLEYBALL CLINICS FOR GIRLS: EMHS will host girls’ volleyball clinics for grades 4 and 5 on March 25 and for grades 6 and up on March 21, 28, and 30. Cost is $10 per player. Contact Jan Kauffman, EMHS Varsity Volleyball coach, at jankauffma@netzero.net.

SPRING BUS TRIP TO YODER BARN! Pieced Together: We Had It Good, which includes stories of change and traditional four-part harmony to dramatically illustrate the sharp contrast all communities feel between the present and the past, will show at Yoder Barn in Newport News. JUMP INTO SPRING with some infectious Irish toe-tapping instrumental music by Lunasa on Saturday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. in EMHS Auditorium. The concert is a fundraising event for the EMHS Touring Choir European tour in June. Advance tickets are $12 adult; $10 students and senior citizens; $40 family. A CROSS-CULTURAL EXPERIENCE IN YOUR HOME! This summer, the Intensive English Program at EMU needs host families for young people from other countries. There are three sessions: May 8-July 21 (Summer Session), July 24-August 18 (Summer Vacation Course for students 18 and older), and July 17-August 4 (SELAM 2006 for students ages 12-17). Host families provide: housing and family fellowship for one or more students; breakfast and supper for students on weekdays; all meals on weekends (unless the students have a field trip); daily transportation (if needed) from your home to IEP.
