VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY AT HERITAGE CENTER! On Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13, CrossRoads Valley Brethren-Mennonite Heritage Center invites volunteers to help with landscaping, cleaning the Welcome Center, clearing out the Wash House, and raking leaves from the amphitheater. Volunteers may choose a three-hour time frame between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Bring gloves, rakes, and shovels. For more details, please call 438-1275. SPRING FAMILY EXTRAVAGANZA: Bring the entire family to EMHS on May 13 to enjoy fun, food, exceptional auction items, and great fellowship. The annual Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community Auxiliary Business meeting will be held on May 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Detweiler Auditorium on the VMRC campus. MENNONITE CHILDREN'S CHOIR OF LANCASTER will perform at VMRC on May 20 at 7:30 p.m. Directed by EMU graduates Rachel Bucher and Rosemary Siegrist, the 50-voice choir involves singers in grades 5-12 from 20 different congregations in the Lancaster/Lebanon area. The mission of MCCL is to develop musical skills and discipline, emphasizing the meaning of worship & enhancing service to God within the church community. Join us in worship! Two of these men were from Riverside Mennonite Church in Harman, WV. Early Sunday morning, April 23, Leroy Mallow died with complications related to cardiac arrest. His wife, Teresa, will be responsible for some heavy financial obligations, since Leroy did not have any insurance. Jerry Sabastian seems to be healing okay, but has some complications from pneumonia. Please pray for all affected by this incident. The Riverside congregation has set up a fund to assist Teresa Mallow, as well as Jerry & Jean Sabastian. A CROSS-CULTURAL EXPERIENCE IN YOUR HOME! This summer, the Intensive English Program at EMU needs host families for young people from other countries. There are three sessions: May 8-July 21 (Summer Session), July 24-August 18 (Summer Vacation Course for students 18 and older), and July 17-August 4 (SELAM 2006 for students ages 12-17). Host families provide: housing and family fellowship for one or more students; breakfast and supper for students on weekdays; all meals on weekends (unless the students have a field trip); daily transportation (if needed) from your home to IEP.
