    • Pray for Bishop Leslie Fransisco as he serves as Urban Ministry Director for the 2020 Vision, a church planting effort of Norfolk & Warwick Districts.

    • Pray for the worship commission as they work together to make our vision of meaningful worship on Sunday mornings a reality.

    • Pray for the Gant family. Ed's mother, Eleanor, passed away on Monday morning, February 5. Her death comes seven months after Ed's father's death. The funeral is today.

Virginia Conference, Mennonite Church USA

VMC’S 2007 ADULT WINTER BIBLE SCHOOL will feature Dr. Myron S. Augsburger, President Emeritus of EMU. This in-depth Bible teaching will take place from 6:30 until 8 p.m. in the Eastern Mennonite School Auditorium on 5 consecutive Sunday nights between February 11 & March 11. Dr. Augsburger’s teaching will be based on his devotional “Soli Deo Gloria: A Daily Walk Through Romans.”



GREAT MUSIC BY LOCAL MENNONITE PERFORMERS! You are invited to Park View at 8 p.m. on February 16 to enjoy great music from: DAPHNA CREEK (traditional gospel & bluegrass), CANTORÉ (a 10-person men’s a cappella ensemble), & FINELY TUNED (a women’s a cappella quartet). There is no charge for admission; however, an offering will be received to support Mennofolk, a Mennonite folk music festival sponsored by VMC.



MCC’S ANNUAL TURKEY CANNING FOR 2007 will be February 26—March 2 at the Mennonite Relief Center. Help is needed each day from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. (and especially in the early morning hours). Specific dates to note: Virginia Mennonite Conference is responsible to provide help on Tuesday, February 27, while Friday, March 2 will be a community day. Funds are needed to purchase turkey for processing and for the ongoing operation of the Relief Center. If you would like to contribute to this project you can send a donation to: Mennonite Relief Center, PO Box 519, Dayton, VA 22821, earmarked for the meat-canning project. If you have any questions pertaining to this project you can contact Leon Rhodes at 867-9751 or Gerald Knicely at 879-2077. Thanks for your participation in this effort to feed the less fortunate in the world!



HIGHLAND RETREAT will hold its Annual Auction, which benefits the youth camp summer program, on March 3. If you can contribute new or slightly used merchandise, theme baskets, baked goods, gift certificates, collectables, or other valuable items, please call 852-3226.



MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Mennonite Mutual Aid is holding Stewardship University at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church on Saturday, March 10. Education courses will be offered in the following areas: personal budgeting, retirement planning, family, relationships, personal stewardship, business: MEDA sponsorship. MCC’S SERVING AND LEARNING TOGETHER (SALT) is an 11-month program for Christians, ages 18 to 27, interested in a cross-cultural service experience.
