WHAT’S GOING ON IN MK COLLEGE? Meserete Kristos College is a seminary in Addis Ababa that provides a broad range of biblically based programs of instruction from an Anabaptist perspective to train servant leaders for churches & societies in Ethiopia. On May 29, come to Harrisonburg Mennonite Church from 7—8:30 p.m, in order to hear from the new president of MK College, Hailu Cherenet Biru, & Carl Hansen, director of College Advancement. This presentation is open to anyone interested in the work of the college as it seeks to grow into an accredited Christian University or Carl & Vera Hansen, who are long-term workers with Eastern Mennonite Missions in Ethiopia. REGISTRATION FOR VMC ASSEMBLY: Registration for Virginia Mennonite Conference Assembly is now open on-line (www.vmconf.org). To receive a paper copy, contact your church office. The theme this year is "Our Christ-centered Faith," and the Assembly will be held at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina, July 26—28. WHAT'S NEW, the weekly e-mail newsletter of Mennonite Central Committee, contains news digests from throughout the MCC system, ways to get involved & advertisements for positions at MCC, links to new informational resources, & stories from MCC workers and partners around the world. To subscribe, go to www.mcc.org & type your e-mail address under "What's new e-mail newsletter." MCC SKYLINE BENEFIT RIDE. Every two years, an MCC ride is planned on the East Coast to benefit MCC. This year’s ride is August 5-9 along the Skyline Drive. Proceeds from this ride will benefit MCC’s work for peace, including walking alongside the Anabaptist churches in Colombia in the midst of a four-decades long conflict. For details of this event, visit www.mcc.org/event/bike or contact the church office for a brochure and registration form. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY & CHILDCARE: KIDZ Adventure Club, a childcare program at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church offering a Summer Day Camp & an After School Program, is now accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Director for the After School Program (K-5) beginning August 1.
