Church Calendar This calender of church activities is provided for your information. Please provide calendar items to both the church office and Myrna Piper so they can be included in both the Sunday bulletin and the monthly newsletter.
EMHS PLUS GIVING OPPORTUNITY: People committed to the mission of Christian education are invited to contribute to the EMHS Plus Giving now through May 18. This is an urgent request since there are only two weeks left to meet the $2,950 goal in supporting this mission. NOMINATION BALLOTS for two persons to serve 3-year terms on the Congregational Leadership Team (CLT) are in today’s bulletin. Please return your completed ballot in the offering plate by May 18. Extra copies are located on the table in the church foyer. EVERYONE IS INVITED to a fellowship meal following the worship service on May 18. Hospitality Committee will be supplying the main entrée of sandwiches, dessert, drinks, and coffee. Each family is asked to bring vegetables, chips, relish, or some other side dish. Contact a member of Hospitality (Eunice Kratz, Bill & Michele Baker, Darlene Lehman, or Teresa Miller). THE SUMMER SCHEDULE will include a large adult class that will meet in the fellowship hall. This class, with the theme “Multiple Intelligence & the Bible Story,” will be taught by multiple teachers in a uniform Sunday school lesson. More information will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead. But for now, mark your calendar to attend these Sunday school classes from June 1 to August 4. DO YOU HAVE QUIET TOYS or children’s books that are going unused? The kids of Zion’s Junior Department are creating “Church Quiet Bags” for children during the worship service. Cash or item donations can be dropped off in the Junior Department room or to Sarah Piper or Rebecca Hess. NOTICE ABOUT PARKING: The trustees of Zion Mennonite Church encourage people to recognize that parking immediately around the new fellowship hall is preferred parking. Senior citizens, persons with small children, and women pregnant with child are invited to park in these spaces. Handicap parking spaces are for those with handicap licenses or a mirror tag designating them as such. All other persons should park in the large parking lot north of the fellowship hall. GOING DIGITAL? Donate your large-screen analog television to the Zion youth. The MYF & JrMYF are looking for TVs to enhance their Sunday school rooms with large screens suitable for whole-class viewing. The JrMYF also seeks a DVD player and couches/loveseats. Receipts for tax deduction available. LOST & FOUND BOXES are in the church’s foyer with items that you may have lost. Please take a moment to look in these boxes & at the coats on the racks in the foyer for items that may belong to you.
