Aaron, Laura, Abigail, & Anna Sophia Kauffman - Aaron and Laura are members of Zion Mennonite Church who are serving in La Mesa, Colombia. Their service is from September 2005 to August 2008. Aaron teaches English and other classes as needed to grades 6-10 at Colegio Americano. Laura is a community health nurse for the church and school. Aaron and Laura participate in the congregational ministries of La Mesa Mennonite Church including "Sunday Theology School" and outreach to persons in a nearby displaced community. Dates to remember:
Dan Baker - Dan is serving from August 2007 - July 2008 through SALT, an 11-month service program run by the Mennonite Central Committee. Dan is working with a project called RECH (Rescatando la Esperanza de los CHavos - Rescuing the Hope of the Youth) through a Mennonite church in Naucalpan, Mexico, called Seguidores de Cristo (Followers of Christ). His duties include administrative, making visits to youth in their homes, helping with the logistics of planned activities, teaching English classes, attending activities of the church, and possibly teaching computer classes. Rachel Nafziger - Rachel is serving September 2007 - May 2008 through the Outtatown Discipleship Program, which is affiliated with Canadian Mennonite University. Rachel will be in Canada during the first semester - spending three weeks in the cities of Winnipeg and Vancouver on "urban plunge" assignments working with persons in poverty, as well as time with the Nuu-cha-nulth nations on Vancouver Island and various other tribes from British Columbia's lower mainland. During the second semester, Rachel will be in South Africa serving the needs of people in their communities, working on building projects, with AIDS victims, and in orphanages. Ben Yutzy - Ben Yutzy is serving until May 2008 through YES, which is affiliated with Eastern Mennonite Missions. Ben, who is the service team leader for his group, will be working with the church in outreach to those affected by HIV/AIDS in Kenya. Ben's contact information is as follows:
